Port Courier X1

A delivery VTOL built to carry 5 kg over 40 km from one rooftop drone port to another. As the reference airframe for Airffic World OS, its configurations, maintenance and flights are all public.

What it does

• Takes off and lands vertically on rooftop ports (a 2.5 m square pad is enough)
• Cruises as a fixed-wing; on schedule in headwinds up to 12 m/s
• Lowers only the parcel by winch; the airframe never touches the ground

Configurations

• standard year-round standard configuration
• winter adds a battery heater and icing detection for low temperatures
• medical-cold-chain with a cold pod that holds 2–8 °C

If you fork it

Fork it, change the configuration, and send it back as a mod. Good mods get merged into the reference airframe.
